FORM IS TO SCULPTURE WHAT COLOR IS TO PAINTING
I learned more in three days than in my two semesters of sculpture at College.
– Y. André, former participant

By the technique of direct carving and modeling in a series of guided steps, you will sculpt a head in the correct proportions. The sculpture is made from a block of clay especially prepared for the course.

Throughout the session you are guided through each step, with explanations where necessary. Added to this are continuous and personalized coaching and a stimulating and enriching exchange between the teacher and the other participants.

About abstract sculpture and figurative sculpture

A sculpture, whether abstract or figurative, is a set of shapes, volumes and plans built on a structure. The difference is that with abstract work there is room to interpret the shapes, while in the figurative one they can be named (e.g. forehead, torso, hand, etc.).

Although the exercise is to sculpt a head, the course is appropriate and beneficial for both abstract and figurative sculptors.
